Centred around the theme Actuaries of the Future, this landmark event underscored a significant milestone for the actuarial profession in India and across the South Asia region.
With over 500 participants, the conference brought together CXOs, CEOs, senior actuaries, university leaders, actuarial professionals and students from India, the UK, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and other South Asian countries.
This diverse representation highlighted the profession’s growing global relevance and impact.
The event opened with an inspiring keynote by Dr Arvind Virmani, a Member of NITI Aayog, who explored India’s economic trajectory and opportunities for young professionals. IFoA President Kartina Tahir Thomson and IAI President Preeti Chandrashekhar delivered presidential addresses that emphasised the actuarial profession's evolving role in addressing global challenges.

Participants engaged in 15 specialised workshops exploring critical areas like Explainable AI, climate risk, IFRS 17, and actuarial leadership in the financial sector. From sessions on asset modelling to discussions on India’s social security systems, the conference catered to professionals across various actuarial domains.
A highlight was the Actuarial Innovation Challenge 2024, conducted in partnership with IAQS. With 157 registrations, the competition culminated in an exciting grand finale featuring 23 semi-finalists and 10 finalists, including five teams from Nepal.
The conference also included a student showcase to foster employer-student networking and a plenary session addressing the skills gap between academia and industry.

A special felicitation ceremony honoured 155 new qualifiers, alongside the winners of the Actuarial Innovation Challenge. The contributions of committee members, led by Akshay Dhand, Appointed Actuary, Canara HSBC, were also acknowledged.
